Tip: #693 - One page summary of color schemes

Created: April 6, 2004 18:33 Complexity: basic Author: Maverick Woo Version: 6.0 Karma: 898/303 Imported from: Tip#693

With so many color schemes on vim.org to choose from, sometimes it's hard to decide which one(s) to use. I have created a page to show off all the color schemes that I have downloaded from here. Hopefully this page will be useful to the rest of the vim community.

The page will be updated as I collect more color schemes.

Very useful!

It would be handy if they were all zipped into one file (for those who would like to archive them locally). But wget solved that problem. These saved me a _lot_ of time browsing various websites for color schemes.

Thanks very much for this, which helps one shop for colors before downloading.

Useful in a different way would be a local scheme chooser, a script that would step interactively through locally available color schemes.

Perhaps such a script would incorporate its own voting scheme where you can help you narrow down the selection to your favorite set.

I have added an html section due to popular requests. Now the site has c, html, java, latex and perl.

Would like to see this for PHP too.

PHP =~ Perl... how about one for a different language, like ML? ;)

Nice idea. It'd be nice if the links were to the script pages on this site instead of to your own local copies, though.
