First copy text 1 (Here selected visual lines (V) and then yanked (y))
Then select text 2 visually (Here again visual lines (V))
While still in visual mode, press 'gd' to perform diff. Green marks identical text. Red marks differences.
The diff can also be done the the other way. Here we see blue marks removed text:
